As HubSpot continues to improve its features and capabilities to meet the needs and demands of its many customers*, we would like to take this opportunity to provide you with an update on HubSpot’s new features and platform improvements in the first half of 2023.
Super Admin & Security
HubSpot currently relies heavily on security features that give administrators more options to restrict what users can see and do. Especially in companies with larger teams, the work of employees is simplified because they are not overwhelmed with features and information that are not relevant to them. In addition, HubSpot provides recommendations on how to make the corporate account even more secure.
We benefit greatly from the new options for user settings when working with our customers, because on the one hand it facilitates the onboarding of new employees, who no longer have to customize everything themselves, and on the other hand it simplifies the work of the super admins, who can easily make settings in advance using templates.
The latest updates:
- HubSpot has launched a new feature, the Security Center! It provides an overview of how secure your own company account is and what measures can be taken to make it more secure. HubSpot plans to expand this feature further and add more criteria to the “Overall Security Score”.
- To provide even more security, HubSpot has introduced a session timeout at 24-hour user inactivity. This means that a new login will be necessary if the user is inactive for more than 24 hours.
- Presets of user settings should help to create users centrally and configure them more quickly. Presets can be selected for teams or users and now notifications can be set uniformly for all.
- Also new are the “Default views“, which you can define for new users – i.e. which views should be displayed in the objects by default
- Super Admins now also have the option of setting the email logging centrally for everyone through the Chrome and Office 365 extension. This means that all employees who have installed the extension will have the default setting and will not be able to change it.

- Large Exports Warning NotificationYou can now be notified when a large export has been made.
- User permissions can now be configured even more granularly: On the one hand, you can set which teams should have access to the documents folders and on the other hand, it is now also possible to set the permissions for each individual custom object.
Data model
HubSpot released a new feature at the beginning of the year that provides an overview of the data model in the system: The relationships between the objects and their properties as well as the number of data records for the respective object are displayed at a glance. This feature is especially helpful for systems that have existed and grown for some time and are to be restructured. But of course, a visual representation of the data structure is also helpful for systems that are to be rebuilt.
Customization
In the area of customization, there were also some innovations: the optimizations of HubSpot help with the “clean” maintenance of the data fields and the user settings ensure that users can only edit what has been approved.
When working with our customers, we always point out that more customization options also require more dedicated HubSpot managers in the company who regularly check for updates, keep the system clean, and support the team.
These are some of the updates:
- For more efficient work, views can now be created and pinned for tasks .
- In the date fields, you can now make more settings, such as specifying that only a working day or only future dates can be selected.
- HubSpot provides the ability to create conditional areas in the left sidebar. Now are conditional areas are also enabled in Pro accounts.
- Another new feature is that conditional logic can be set up in the “Create data record” formso that certain fields appear or are required as soon as a certain property value is selected. Example: it is possible to define which properties are displayed when creating new deals, depending on which pipeline a deal is added to.
Import
- Import validation: The first 100 lines of the import file are now checked to see if errors can be detected directly.
- It is now also possible to specify whether data should be created and/or only updated during an import. You can also use individual unique identifier fields and then use these for updates during import.
- If you want to repeat an import but don’t want to click through everything again, you can also use the “Repeat import” option to skip a few steps and save your valuable time for other things.
Workflows
- Workflows at risk gives an improved overview of (possible) errors in the workflow.
- For tasks in workflows, the due date and reminder date can now be set to include only business days.
